I Remember

“I will remember you
Will you remember me?”

There had been a long season of storms that caused her body and mind to be weary and confused. She had laid her head down to rest for a while but had a hard time sleeping. When she finally awoke she felt the winds of change and transformation blowing through the trees and the holes in her heart. Then he appeared as if transported by the gusts that surrounded her. He stood before her as if he was sent with a purpose. His eyes captivating, his smile kind and the warm gentle arms that greeted her seemed all to familiar. She resisted this beautiful presence for sometime until she truly understood what her heart was telling her. This was not the devil tempting her but a divine influence, an angelic call, inviting her to restore the balance and harmony to her awakening soul.

“I’m so tired but I can’t sleep
Standin’ on the edge of something much too deep
It’s funny how we feel so much but we cannot say a word
We are screaming inside, but we can’t be heard.”

She finally heard the message and surrendered to the whispers of her heart and welcomed his arrival. He knew the depths of her heart. He knew the desires of her soul. He knew the beauty and radiance of her being. He felt everything she did without saying a single word. He was strong and tender. He kissed her softly yet all the breath left her body and returned with the next kiss. She had been cleansed and restored back to a place that she had almost forgotten. In that moment, in his eyes she saw herself again for the first time. She was not looking for anything, but found herself in this mirror where she had been stripped bare only to see her glowing radiance in this remarkable reflection.

In this reflection a memory.

In this reflection a renewal

In this reflection a rebirth.

“I will remember you
Will you remember me?
Don’t let your life pass you by
Weep not for the memories.”

He had arrived as a powerful memory, a messenger to provide her the brightest reflection of herself so that she would finally wake up to her sheer brilliance. He was everything she was, everything that she had felt, but had not completely acknowledged in herself. He, in his own light, was the light in her, manifest before her eyes until she remembered and saw that light in herself once again.

“I’m so afraid to love you, but more afraid to lose
Clinging to a past that doesn’t let me choose
Once there was a darkness, deep and endless night
You gave me everything you had, oh you gave me light.”

It was finally time, the activation complete. There was a fear in the intensity she felt. She loved him deeply for the gift he was to her. She knew that the love she felt was a gift all to her herself. She had called for this. She created this dream only to wake up from it. In this divine restoration she could now love herself completely and fully just as this angel reminded her how. She remembered and she would not lose this love again.

Face to face in a final embrace, there eyes locked in soulful conversation. As a tear fell from his eye and then from hers their hearts sang in unison,

“I will remember you.”

“People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.”
